Fobs have played a predominant role in the extensive history of jewelry. Thought to have started in the late eighteenth century and used by both men and women, the functional and decorative treasures were often worn in groups on a chatelaine with other implements or hung from a chain secured on the waistcoat.

Here is a scarce and almost mint example of a Georgian era set rendered in 18k rose, green and yellow gold. Each is exquisitely crafted with an ornate lyre motif. One features a watch key and the other is an ornamental fob inset with a faceted citrine.

The two pieces are suspended from the original circular split ring accented with a wide circular bale with a three color gold flower design. The surface of the ornamental fob is textured with leaf and flower appliques.
